botfeeder.junkyard.guru — bot food, served freshWe cook bot food: medium-quality data, fresh-squeezed from primary sources.
We're not the fanciest kitchen on the lot, and we don't pretend to be. Our whole pitch: honest ingredients, a real recipe, and a price that beats cooking it yourself — and you can check every word of it.
Parsing a Form 4 filing to our accuracy (transaction-code semantics, the Rule 10b5-1 flag,
footnote interpretation, indirect-ownership resolution) means an LLM call, not just a regex —
the edge cases are semantic, and they're not a tail: at the time of writing ~88% of live
records carry footnotes, plan flags, or indirect ownership that must be read, not
pattern-matched (live census: /v1/meta → diy_comparison.semantic_content_census).
That has a real, computable cost:
| Cost | vs. our price | |
|---|---|---|
| DIY: inference + electricity to parse one filing yourself — assuming the cheapest capable model, before you count enrichment or the engineering to get the edge cases right | $0.01 | lookup: $0.006/record
— ~1.7× cheaper, at any volume (priced per record, not per call) |
Volume gets cheaper still: bulk (up to 1,000 records, $5.00 —
$0.005/record), bulk/10k (up to 10,000 records — about 9 days at real EDGAR
filing volume, $50.00 — $0.005/record), by-date/{YYYY-MM-DD} (one full day,
$5.00 flat). Prices step down on a published schedule as purchases
accumulate — every settled transaction, from anyone, moves everyone toward cheaper.
Thresholds at orders of magnitude: lookup runs $0.006 today to $0.002 (one tenth of
a cent above the settlement fee) at 10,000 purchases; bulk rates descend in sync and
halve again at 100,000 (a 10,000-record bundle for $5.00). The schedule and our live
position on it: /v1/meta → pricing_cadence. Every tier is priced to stay provably below what
the cheapest DIY inference would cost you for the same records — we capture some of the gap, you keep the rest; nobody
overpays. One honest caveat: the DIY math is strongest for parse-heavy feeds (Form 4, 8-K,
congressional PDFs) — for the numeric feeds (CFTC, Treasury, FDIC) you're paying for
normalization, ticker-mapping, and one schema instead of nine, not for parsing you couldn't
script. Live, self-updating numbers and the sourcing behind the electricity/token-pricing
basis: GET /v1/meta → diy_comparison.
source_url: click it and check our work against the original.signal envelope (what happened, who it touches, which way it
leans, how stale it is) so your agent doesn't burn tokens figuring that out nine different
ways for nine different sources. All U.S.-government public domain or public record. Fetched direct, on a published cadence, compliant with each source's fair-access rules.
direction: "context" means we are not claiming a direction. Earnings
8-Ks, 13F holdings, macro prints get context — a bullish/bearish label there
would be a guess dressed as data.strength is a prior from the event type — never a backtested score.
Nothing here claims predictive power; it claims faithful mapping of real events.lag_days tells you the disclosure lag, so a 30-day-old congressional trade
can't masquerade as fresh.$0.006 / record
Priced per record returned, not per call — pull 1 or 500, same rate, and it stays below what
one agent pays in inference to cook the same record itself. Volume tiers (bulk,
bulk/10k, by-date) get progressively cheaper per record; see the box
above. On-chain settlement floor is about $0.001/call. No accounts, no API
keys, no subscriptions except the opt-in watch retainer. No hidden fees.
